Convocation Venues in Pondicherry

Pondicherry lists 2 dedicated convocation venues on Spalba, offering banquet and event halls suited to formal academic graduation ceremonies. Both properties are located within the city's key hospitality corridors — Kamaraj Salai and Ellaipillaichavady — and together present hall configurations ranging from intimate 30-seat setups to gatherings of up to 400 guests, making this a focused but capable selection for institutions of varying size.

The Venues Available

The two properties anchoring Pondicherry's convocation-venue stock are Hotel Le Royal Park, Puducherry and Accord Puducherry. Between them, they offer a range of named halls — Picasso, Monalisa, Monet, Monarch, Sapphire, and Emerald 2 — giving event planners multiple room configurations under two established hospitality roofs. This variety within a compact venue count means organisers can select a hall that fits the formality and scale of their specific ceremony without over-booking space.

Capacity Guidance

The combined capacity range across these convocation venues runs from 30 to 400 guests, with a typical working range of 60–400. Five of the available halls fall in the under-200 category, making them well suited to departmental or faculty-level convocations, smaller cohorts, or institutions holding multiple staggered ceremonies. No hall in the current listing exceeds 600, so institutions expecting very large single-sitting audiences of 600 or more may need to plan accordingly. For mid-sized graduation batches — a common format for Pondicherry's several universities and engineering colleges — the 60–400 range covers the majority of requirements comfortably.

Location in the City

Both venues are situated in established parts of the city: Kamaraj Salai, which runs along Pondicherry's beachfront and hosts much of its upscale hospitality infrastructure, and Ellaipillaichavady, a locality that connects central Puducherry to its northern outskirts. Either location offers reasonable access for students, faculty, and guests travelling from within the Union Territory or arriving from nearby districts of Tamil Nadu.

Staying in the Right Category

Convocation venues here are listed specifically for formal academic graduation ceremonies. If your event is a seminar, a faculty conference, or a corporate awards function, Spalba's corporate-venues and convention-centers pages may serve those needs more precisely. For events where a dedicated stage and tiered seating are the primary requirement, the auditoriums listing is worth reviewing alongside this one.
