Umiam is defined by its lakeside landscape. Situated near Umiam Lake and its famed viewpoint, this locality offers a natural backdrop that few areas around Shillong can match. Currently, Spalba lists one verified wedding venue here — but it covers the full range of spaces a wedding day typically demands, from open lawns to an enclosed banquet hall.
The Venue: Spaces and Capacity
La Nicholas - Lake View (by Summit Hotels), Shillong brings together three distinct event spaces under one property: Lawn 1, Lawn 2, and a Banquet Hall. This combination means couples can host pre-wedding gatherings on the grounds and shift the main ceremony or reception indoors as needed. The venue accommodates gatherings from 100 to 500 guests, making it a practical fit for intimate family weddings and larger celebrations alike.
Lakeside Setting
Umiam's proximity to Umiam Lake and the surrounding viewpoint gives any outdoor event here a scenic quality that is genuinely specific to this locality. La Nicholas - Lake View draws directly on that geography, with its lawn spaces offering open-air settings framed by the natural environment of the lake belt.
