Shillong's luxury hotel event landscape currently centres on one fully-featured five-star property, Courtyard Shillong, located in the heart of Police Bazar. With event spaces spanning capacities from 30 to 430 guests, this single property offers a notable range of hall configurations — making it the definitive address for prestige-tier gatherings in the city.
The Venue at a Glance
Courtyard Shillong houses six distinct event spaces under one roof: Cosmos, Cosmos 1, Cosmos 2, Magnum, Magnum 1, and Magnum 2. This variety of named halls means an organiser can select a space tuned precisely to the scale of their function — whether that is a focused executive meeting, a curated social evening, or a larger celebratory event. The full-service luxury positioning of the property brings with it dedicated event support, premium interiors, and the operational depth expected at the five-star tier.
Matching Capacity to Your Event
The capacity profile here is deliberately versatile. Five of the six spaces seat fewer than 200 guests, with the typical working range sitting between 30 and 190 — well suited to corporate conferences, intimate weddings, board dinners, and private celebrations that call for an elevated setting without an oversized hall. For occasions that do require more room, the property scales up to 430 guests at its maximum, covering mid-to-large receptions and formal banquets comfortably. No spaces in this property cross the 600-guest mark, so very large-format events may need a different configuration.
Location: Police Bazar
Courtyard Shillong's positioning in Police Bazar — Shillong's principal commercial and hospitality hub — adds a practical advantage for delegates and guests arriving from across the city or travelling in from outside Meghalaya. Proximity to retail, transport connections, and accommodation options within the same district reduces logistical friction for multi-day programmes and out-of-town attendees. Spalba's 3D virtual tour feature lets planners walk through the event spaces remotely before committing, which is particularly useful when coordinating with guests travelling from other cities.
