Convocation Venues in Jalpaiguri

Jalpaiguri's current listing for convocation venues includes one dedicated option — Hotel Safari — situated near Jalpaiguri Sadar Hospital. While the city's dedicated academic-ceremony stock is compact, Hotel Safari offers two distinct spaces — a Safari Hall and a Restaurant — both scaled for intimate, formal graduation gatherings. Institutions and organising committees looking for a manageable, dignified setting for their convocation day will find this option worth examining closely.

The Venue at a Glance

Hotel Safari is the sole listed convocation venue in Jalpaiguri at present. It presents two internal spaces: the Safari Hall, suited to ceremony proceedings, and a Restaurant space that can support ancillary functions — receptions, faculty lunches, or post-ceremony gatherings. Both spaces are contained within a single property, which simplifies logistics for academic coordinators managing guests, faculty, and graduands under one roof.

Capacity and Fit for Academic Gatherings

The venue accommodates between 50 and 150 guests, placing it firmly in the intimate-to-mid-scale range. For colleges or departments conducting smaller departmental convocations, annual prize distributions, or batch graduation ceremonies, this 50–150 capacity band is a practical fit. Larger university-wide ceremonies that require seating several hundred or more would exceed what is currently available through this category in Jalpaiguri — in which case, broader options may be worth exploring.

Location

Hotel Safari is located near Jalpaiguri Sadar Hospital, a central and well-known landmark in the town. This positioning makes it relatively accessible for guests and faculty travelling from different parts of Jalpaiguri, reducing logistical complexity on the day of the ceremony itself.
