Convocation Venues in Madikeri

Madikeri, the hill-station capital of Coorg, offers 2 venues suited to formal academic graduation ceremonies — a compact but considered selection set against the district's distinctive landscape. The available spaces range from structured conference rooms to soiree halls and even open lawns with poolside settings, spanning capacities of 70 to 200 guests. For institutions or departments seeking a scenic yet purposeful setting for their convocation, Madikeri's current stock is worth examining closely.

The Venues Available

Both venues in Madikeri bring a hospitality-grade infrastructure to graduation events. Sterling Brookstone Coorg, located in Monnageri, offers indoor event spaces that can be configured for formal seating arrangements appropriate to a convocation ceremony. Taj Madikeri Resort & Spa, Coorg, situated in Galibeedu, provides a soiree hall and a lawn with poolside space — a combination that allows for the ceremony itself alongside a reception or post-conferral gathering. Venue types across the two properties include Conference Room, Soiree Hall, and Lawn with Poolside, giving planners some flexibility in how the day is structured.

Capacity Range and Fit

The venues in Madikeri accommodate gatherings between 70 and 200 guests, with the typical range sitting at 70–200. This suits small-to-medium cohort convocations — think departmental graduation ceremonies, professional education programmes, or smaller institutional batches rather than large university-wide events. The single venue rated for intimate gatherings under 200 means organisers should confirm exact capacity allocations early, particularly if a seated stage arrangement, faculty rows, and a guest section are all required within the same space.

Where Venues Are Located

The two properties are spread across two distinct localities within the Madikeri area. Sterling Brookstone Coorg is in Monnageri, while Taj Madikeri Resort & Spa, Coorg is in Galibeedu — both accessible from Madikeri town but set in quieter, greener surroundings that lend a sense of occasion to a formal ceremony. Logistics around guest travel and accommodation are worth factoring in, as both localities sit outside the main town centre.
