It operates as a banquet hall and is configured specifically to accommodate seated academic ceremonies — the kind that call for a formal stage, faculty seating, and guest rows for families and attendees. For institutions seeking a dedicated, enclosed space for conferring degrees or certificates in Thanjavur, Hotel RAKS is the primary option currently available through Spalba.

Capacity Guidance for Graduation Planners

Hotel RAKS holds up to 150 guests, placing it firmly in the intimate-ceremony bracket. This makes it a practical match for department-level convocations, professional certification programmes, or smaller graduating batches — where a more personal setting is preferred over a large auditorium. With a consistent capacity of 150, planners can plan seating, stage layout, and protocol arrangements with a clear ceiling in mind. Institutions with larger graduating classes should factor this in early during their venue search.

For institutions whose faculty, students, and families are travelling from within or around Thanjavur, a centrally accessible location within the city reduces logistical complexity on the day of the ceremony.
