Convocation Venues in Vellore

Vellore currently lists 2 venues on Spalba suited to formal academic graduation ceremonies, spanning a capacity range of 60 to 600 guests. Both properties are anchored in key localities — Kaniyambadi and Gandhi Nagar — and offer a mix of banquet halls, lawns, and smaller breakout spaces, giving institutions flexibility whether they are hosting an intimate departmental ceremony or a large all-programme convocation.

The Venues Available

The two properties on Spalba reflect Vellore's hospitality stock well. Sterling Hibis Vellore and Fortune Park Vellore - Member ITC Hotel Group both maintain multiple event spaces under one roof. Between them, you will find venue types that include Banquet Halls, Lawns, Board Rooms (1 & 2), and the Garuda 1, 2 & 3 halls — a variety that allows organisers to configure a main ceremonial space alongside smaller pre- or post-function areas for faculty, VIPs, or registration counters.

Matching Capacity to Your Ceremony

Both venues fall within the intimate-to-mid-scale segment, with no property in the current listing exceeding 600 seated guests. The typical usable capacity bracket runs from 120 to 600, though the lower end of 60 is also available for smaller departmental or honours ceremonies. Institutions expecting a gathering of up to 200 — a common scale for single-department convocations — will find both properties comfortably suited. For very large all-university ceremonies requiring well beyond 600 seats, the current Vellore listing does not include options at that scale, and planners should factor this in early.

Where These Venues Are Located

The two convocation venues are situated in Kaniyambadi and Gandhi Nagar, two well-connected localities within Vellore. Kaniyambadi's proximity to several educational institutions makes it a practical choice for colleges organising ceremonies closer to their campuses. Gandhi Nagar, being a central commercial node, offers guests and attendees easier access from multiple parts of the city.

Virtual Venue Exploration

Spalba offers 3D virtual tours for select properties, allowing academic coordinators and event committees to assess hall layouts, stage configurations, and seating arrangements before a site visit — a useful step when coordinating with registrar offices and deans across departments.

Related Event Spaces to Consider

If your ceremony requires a purpose-built stage and tiered seating, browse auditoriums in Vellore. For post-convocation corporate-style felicitation events or faculty seminars, corporate venues may be more appropriate. Larger multi-event academic gatherings could also be explored under convention centres.
