Chilika's hotel banquet options are anchored by one well-appointed lakeside property that brings together on-site accommodation and dedicated event spaces under a single roof. Swosti Chilika Resort, located in Odia Alapur, is the standout choice for planners seeking the convenience of hall and stay combined — a particularly practical arrangement for events that draw guests from outside Chilika.
The Venue at a Glance
Swosti Chilika Resort offers a varied portfolio of event spaces, making it suitable for gatherings of very different scales and styles. The property houses six distinct spaces: Ektara Lawn, Tanger Lawn, Maple 1, Mahogany, Chestnut, and Shehnai Lawn. This mix of enclosed halls and open lawns means planners can choose an indoor setting for formal functions or an outdoor setup that takes full advantage of the Chilika lakeside surroundings — all within the same property.
Matching Capacity to Your Event
The resort accommodates anywhere from 25 to 500 guests, making it versatile across a wide range of event sizes. For most functions, a working capacity of 70 to 260 guests represents the typical planning range, and three of its spaces comfortably seat under 200 attendees — ideal for intimate celebrations, corporate gatherings, or family functions where a more personal atmosphere is preferred. For larger occasions reaching up to 500, the resort's lawn spaces provide the necessary room without requiring a shift to a separate venue.
Location: Odia Alapur
The resort sits in Odia Alapur, a setting that places event guests directly by the Chilika Lake ecosystem. For attendees travelling from Bhubaneswar or other parts of Odisha, having in-house accommodation tied to the banquet facility removes the complexity of coordinating accommodation elsewhere. This integrated arrangement is one of the defining advantages of booking a hotel banquet hall over a standalone event space.
