Grand Ball Room

Abad Plaza is located on MG Road in the Shenoys area of Ernakulam, Kochi — one of the city's most recognisable commercial addresses. The road is well signposted and served by auto-rickshaws, app-based cabs, and city bus routes, making it straightforward for guests travelling from any part of the city.

Guests arriving by rail can use Ernakulam Junction (Main) railway station, which is among the nearest major rail connections to MG Road. Those flying in would arrive at Cochin International Airport and can reach the hotel by cab or pre-arranged transfer. The central MG Road location reduces last-mile complexity for out-of-town attendees.

Specific capacity figures for the Grand Ball Room depend on the chosen seating arrangement — theatre style, banquet rounds, and cocktail layouts each accommodate different numbers of guests. It is recommended to contact the Abad Plaza events team directly with your preferred setup to receive the exact figures for your event.

Yes, the ballroom's layout is flexible and can be configured for theatre-style presentations, banquet dining rounds, cocktail receptions, and conference arrangements. The in-house events team works with clients to determine the most practical setup based on guest count and event format. This makes the space adaptable for both formal dinners and professional conferences.

As a full-service hotel, Abad Plaza has an in-house catering operation that services banquet and event bookings. Specific menus, cuisine options, and catering packages are best confirmed directly with the events team at the time of inquiry. They can tailor food and beverage arrangements to suit the nature and scale of your event.

The ballroom's formal interior and generous proportions are well suited to traditional Kerala floral arrangements as well as contemporary banquet styling. The hotel's events team can coordinate with your chosen decorator to ensure the setup aligns with the space's layout. It is advisable to discuss décor logistics, including rigging and early access, with the venue in advance.

Abad Plaza is a hotel with event infrastructure, and AV support is typically part of the banquet offering; however, the exact inventory of equipment — screens, projectors, sound systems, and microphones — should be confirmed with the events team when making an inquiry. They can also advise on whether external AV vendors are permitted for specialised requirements.

The property has on-site parking to serve hotel guests and event attendees. For large events where guest vehicles could be significant in number, it is worth checking parking availability and any overflow arrangements directly with the hotel prior to the event date.

Yes, the Grand Ball Room regularly hosts corporate events including conferences, annual general meetings, product launches, and awards nights alongside social celebrations. Its central MG Road location in Ernakulam's business district makes it particularly practical for corporate delegates travelling from within and outside Kochi.

Abad Plaza is a hotel property, so guest room accommodation is available on-site for attendees travelling from outside Kochi. Room availability and any group booking rates or room block arrangements for event guests should be discussed with the hotel's reservations or events team at the time of booking.

Many hotel ballrooms permit external decorators and select vendors for weddings and corporate events, though specific policies on outside vendors — particularly for catering, entertainment, and décor — vary by property and event type. The Abad Plaza events team is the right contact to confirm which vendor categories are permitted and any associated conditions.

The Grand Ball Room combines a ballroom-scale event space with the full support infrastructure of an established hotel — in-house catering, on-site accommodation for out-of-town guests, professional events staff, and a well-known MG Road address in Ernakulam's commercial core. This integrated offering removes the need to coordinate across multiple vendors and venues, which can simplify event planning considerably.
