The Space
Garden 1 at Base Eleven Convention Centre is an open-air event lawn set within the convention and exhibition campus in Kadappattoor, Pala — a town in the Kottayam district of Kerala. The space carries the natural character that outdoor venues in Kerala are celebrated for: open skies, greenery, and a setting that feels both expansive and intimate depending on how it is arranged. As a dedicated garden venue within a purpose-built convention facility, Garden 1 benefits from the infrastructure of a professionally managed property while retaining the organic, relaxed atmosphere that outdoor gatherings in this part of the state are known for.
The lawn is suited to events that call for a softer, more open-air backdrop — one where the outdoors becomes part of the experience rather than simply a setting. Lighting installed across the garden transforms the space as evening falls, making it equally appealing for daytime and after-sunset functions.
Events & Occasions
Garden 1 is a versatile space that accommodates a wide range of social and ceremonial events. Wedding receptions, engagement ceremonies, and mehendi or sangeet functions are natural fits, where the open-air format allows for free movement, elaborate floral installations, and the kind of relaxed celebration that Kerala weddings often call for. The space also works well for corporate outdoor gatherings, product launches with a garden theme, cultural programmes, and community celebrations.
Because Garden 1 sits within Base Eleven Convention Centre, guests and organisers have access to the broader facility's support services — including event coordination, catering arrangements, and setup assistance — rather than managing an outdoor venue in isolation. This combination of outdoor atmosphere and convention-grade support is particularly useful for large social events that require professional execution alongside a natural setting.
Location & Accessibility
Base Eleven Convention Centre is located in Kadappattoor, Pala, in Kerala's Kottayam district. Pala is a well-connected town in central Kerala, situated along the Meenachil River, and serves as a significant commercial and cultural hub for the region. Its central position within the state makes it accessible from Kottayam, Ernakulam, and Kochi, with road connectivity being the primary mode of travel for most guests.
The Kottayam railway station and the Cochin International Airport are both within reasonable driving distance, making Garden 1 a practical choice for events that draw guests from across Kerala or from outside the state. For families and communities in the broader Pala and Kottayam region, the venue's location within a familiar and accessible town is itself a meaningful advantage — guests can reach the venue without navigating the traffic or distances associated with Kochi or Thiruvananthapuram.
Choosing Garden 1 means choosing a space where the outdoor setting, professional venue management, and central Kerala location work together to support events that are memorable without being logistically complicated.
