Brightland Resort

A Historic Retreat in Vehicle-Free Matheran

Brightland Resort offers a unique getaway experience in the tranquil hill station of Matheran, a destination distinguished as Asia's only automobile-free zone. Situated on the main M.G. Road, the resort provides guests with a peaceful escape from the noise and pollution of city life, immersing them in a setting of old-world colonial charm and natural splendor. Accessing the resort is an adventure in itself; guests typically travel to the nearby town of Neral by road or rail from major hubs like Mumbai and Pune, and then complete the final leg of the journey to the Dasturi Naka entry point. From there, the absence of cars means that the final approach to the resort is made on foot, by horseback, or via traditional hand-pulled rickshaws, setting the stage for a truly disconnected and serene stay. This distinctive location makes Brightland Resort an ideal choice for travelers seeking relaxation, including families on vacation, couples looking for a romantic retreat, and nature enthusiasts eager to explore Matheran's numerous walking trails and scenic viewpoints. The property’s central location also ensures that guests are just a short stroll away from the main market, local eateries, and popular attractions like Charlotte Lake.

Comfortable Accommodations and Leisure Amenities

The resort is designed to provide a comfortable and engaging stay with a range of amenities catering to leisure and relaxation. The property features approximately 30 well-appointed guest rooms, offering a cozy and private space for visitors to unwind after a day of exploration. While room categories vary, each is equipped with essential modern comforts to ensure a pleasant experience. The heart of the resort's recreational offerings is its inviting swimming pool, a perfect spot to cool off and relax amidst the lush greenery that characterizes Matheran. For those who prefer indoor entertainment, the resort provides a selection of games, which often include table tennis and carrom, fostering a friendly and social atmosphere for guests of all ages. Dining is handled by the in-house multi-cuisine restaurant, which serves a variety of dishes to suit different palates, with a focus on popular Indian preparations. This on-site dining facility adds a layer of convenience, allowing guests to enjoy wholesome meals without having to venture far. The combination of comfortable lodging and thoughtful amenities ensures that a stay at Brightland Resort is both restful and memorable, providing a comprehensive hospitality experience within its picturesque hill station setting.

Versatile Spaces for Intimate Events and Gatherings

Beyond being a leisure destination, Brightland Resort also serves as a charming venue for small-scale events, corporate offsites, and social celebrations. The property’s serene environment, away from urban distractions, creates a focused and inspiring backdrop for productive meetings and team-building retreats. The resort offers both indoor and outdoor spaces that can be adapted for various functions. An indoor hall provides a private setting for conferences, workshops, or formal presentations, while the outdoor lawn area is perfectly suited for more informal gatherings, such as cocktail receptions, small wedding ceremonies, or celebratory dinners under the stars.
