New Lawn

The New Lawn is an open-air, outdoor event space set within the resort grounds in Varca, South Goa. As with any alfresco venue, weather conditions — particularly during the monsoon season — can affect its usability. Prospective clients should ask the resort about contingency arrangements, such as temporary canopies or alternative indoor spaces, when planning an event during or close to the monsoon months.

Caravela Beach Resort in Varca is approximately 40 kilometres from Goa International Airport (Dabolim), making it accessible for guests arriving by air from across India or internationally. Travel time can vary depending on traffic and route. The resort's front desk or events team can assist with guidance on transfers and transportation for event guests.

Yes, Caravela Beach Resort is a full-service resort property with on-site guest accommodation, which means outstation guests or the wedding party can stay on the same premises as the event. This is particularly convenient for multi-day celebrations such as destination weddings or corporate retreats. Room availability and group booking rates should be discussed directly with the resort's reservations team.

Caravela Beach Resort is a full-service property with in-house catering capabilities, which are typically available to groups booking the New Lawn. As a resort with an established events department, Caravela Beach Resort is generally equipped to coordinate décor setups for functions held at the New Lawn, or to work alongside external décor vendors. The open-air nature of the lawn allows for a wide variety of staging configurations, floral arrangements, and lighting installations. Couples and event planners should discuss their specific vision with the events team to understand what is handled in-house and what requires external vendors.

The New Lawn at Caravela Beach Resort is well positioned for destination weddings, combining a serene South Goa coastal setting with the convenience of on-site accommodation, catering, and a dedicated events team. Unlike a standalone banquet or marriage hall, the New Lawn sits within the full infrastructure of Caravela Beach Resort, meaning event logistics — accommodation, catering, housekeeping, and event support — can all be managed through a single property. The outdoor, lawn setting also provides a distinctly different ambience from an enclosed hall, with open skies, tropical greenery, and the coastal character of Varca as a natural backdrop. This makes it especially suitable for events where the setting itself is part of the experience.

Full details of audiovisual and technical equipment available at the New Lawn should be requested from the resort's events team, as outdoor setups can vary significantly based on the scale and format of the event. Most full-service resort properties can arrange sound systems, lighting rigs, and projection equipment either in-house or through preferred vendors. It is advisable to discuss technical requirements early in the planning process to ensure sufficient lead time for setup.

Caravela Beach Resort is a large resort property and is expected to have parking facilities available for guests attending events. Whether the parking capacity is sufficient for large gatherings, and any arrangements for overflow or valet parking, should be verified directly with the resort before finalising guest numbers. The events team can advise on the best approach for managing guest arrival logistics.

The New Lawn is well suited to pre-wedding functions such as sangeet nights, mehndi ceremonies, and cocktail evenings, where guests benefit from an open, expansive outdoor setting with room to move freely. The resort's catering and décor capabilities can be tailored to suit the format and theme of each function. Couples planning multi-event celebrations should speak to the events team about scheduling and any package options available.

Noise and music regulations for outdoor events in Goa are governed by state and local authority rules, which can include curfew timings for amplified sound at open-air venues. As the New Lawn is an outdoor space, these regulations are particularly relevant for late-night functions. Clients should confirm current applicable curfew timings with the resort's events team and factor these into their event schedule.

Caravela Beach Resort is located in Fatrade, Varca, and sits close to Varca Beach — one of South Goa's quieter and more unspoiled stretches of coastline. This proximity to the beach is part of what gives the New Lawn its coastal character, with sea breezes and the natural landscape contributing to the outdoor atmosphere. The exact walking distance to the beach from the lawn area can be confirmed with the resort directly.
