The Columbia is an event venue housed within Cygnett Inn Imperial, a hotel property located in the Mahabhairab area of Tezpur, Assam. Tezpur is one of Northeast India's most historically and culturally significant towns, situated on the northern bank of the Brahmaputra, and the Columbia space draws on the energy of this distinctive setting to offer a venue that feels both grounded and purposeful. The room carries a clean, professional character suited to a wide range of gatherings — from intimate corporate meetings to mid-scale social celebrations — making it one of the more versatile event options available in this part of Assam.
The space is thoughtfully appointed to meet the practical needs of modern event planners without sacrificing comfort. Guests can expect well-maintained interiors, controlled lighting, and the kind of attentive in-house service that a branded hotel property like Cygnett Inn brings to every occasion. Whether the event calls for a formal boardroom layout or a more relaxed banquet arrangement, the Columbia can be configured to match the brief. The Cygnett Inn Imperial brand, part of the established Cygnett Hotels group, ensures consistent service standards that event organisers — particularly those coordinating from outside Assam — can rely on.
The Columbia is well positioned to host a broad spectrum of events. Corporate planners looking for a reliable venue in Tezpur for seminars, training sessions, product presentations, or team offsites will find the space accommodating and professionally managed. Social events are equally at home here. Birthday celebrations, anniversary gatherings, engagement functions, and small family receptions are among the occasions the space suits comfortably. For couples planning events in the Tezpur region, the Columbia offers the reassurance of a hotel-backed venue with dedicated event support, catering options, and a central location accessible from across the town and surrounding districts.
The versatility of the space also makes it attractive for government and institutional functions, which are a regular feature of event life in a town like Tezpur, given its administrative and cultural prominence in the Sonitpur district.
Cygnett Inn Imperial sits in the Mahabhairab neighbourhood of Tezpur — a locality named after the revered Mahabhairab Temple, one of the town's most prominent landmarks. This positioning places the hotel within a well-recognised part of Tezpur, making it easy for guests arriving from different parts of the town or from surrounding areas to locate without difficulty. Tezpur is served by Salonibari Airport, which connects the town to Guwahati and other regional hubs, giving the Columbia a degree of accessibility that is meaningful for guests travelling from outside the Brahmaputra Valley. The hotel's location within a branded property also means guests attending events have access to on-site parking, accommodation, and dining — reducing the coordination burden that often comes with standalone event spaces in smaller towns.
