Agni Theertham is a holy seashore located opposite the Ramanathaswamy Temple in Rameswaram, Tamil Nadu, where pilgrims take a sacred dip to cleanse themselves of sins. According to legend, Lord Rama bathed here after defeating Ravana, and the god Agni washed away his sins in these waters, hence the name. It is the most prominent of the 64 sacred tirthams in Rameswaram, and taking a bath here is a crucial part of the pilgrimage before entering the temple.
