A Dedicated Event Space in Roorkee's Civil Lines
The Grand Ball Room at Hometel Roorkee is the property's primary large-format event venue, housed within a modern mid-scale hotel managed under the Sarovar Hotels & Resorts portfolio. Located in Civil Lines — one of Roorkee's more accessible and well-connected neighbourhoods — the space is designed to serve the full range of social and professional gatherings that this growing city in Uttarakhand regularly hosts. The hotel's position in Civil Lines places it within convenient reach of Roorkee's central areas, and the property is accessible from both the Roorkee railway station and IIT Roorkee, one of India's most prominent technical institutions and a consistent source of academic and corporate event demand in the city.
The ballroom carries the clean, contemporary aesthetic that characterises the Hometel brand — practical yet polished, with interiors that balance functionality and visual appeal. Air-conditioned throughout, the hall provides a comfortable environment for guests regardless of the season, which is a meaningful consideration given Uttarakhand's warm summers and cooler winters. The space is configured to accommodate banquet-style seating, theatre-style arrangements, and other standard event layouts, giving planners flexibility when designing the floor plan for their specific occasion.
Events & Occasions
The Grand Ball Room is a versatile venue suited to a broad spectrum of events. Weddings and wedding-related functions — including receptions, engagement ceremonies, and mehendi or sangeet evenings — represent a natural fit for the space, given the cultural significance of such celebrations in this region and the hotel's capacity to support end-to-end hospitality for out-of-town guests. The in-house catering team, operating under the Hometel Roorkee food and beverage programme, can support banquet menus for these occasions.
Beyond social celebrations, the ballroom is equally capable of hosting corporate events: conferences, seminars, product launches, training sessions, and company gatherings are all well within scope. The combination of a dedicated event floor, hotel accommodation for attendees, and professional catering on one property makes it a practical choice for organisations bringing teams or delegates into Roorkee. Birthday celebrations, anniversary dinners, and other milestone gatherings also find a natural home here.
Location & Accessibility
Civil Lines, Roorkee, gives the Grand Ball Room a locational advantage that matters to event planners sourcing venues in the Haridwar–Roorkee corridor of Uttarakhand. Roorkee is connected by rail on the Delhi–Haridwar line, making the property reachable from Delhi, Dehradun, and Haridwar without requiring guests to drive the full distance. For those travelling by road, the city sits on National Highway 58, offering straightforward access from the National Capital Region as well as from the hill districts of Uttarakhand. The presence of IIT Roorkee nearby also means the area is familiar to a national audience — academics, researchers, and industry professionals who regularly visit the campus often look for full-service hotel venues within the city, making Hometel Roorkee a practical and well-situated option for that segment of demand.
