Lawn

The Lawn at MAP Resort is an open-air outdoor event space set within the resort's grounds in Chondi. It offers an expanse of green lawn under an open sky, making it ideal for events that benefit from natural light and a resort-like ambience. Hosts planning events during monsoon or cooler months should discuss weather contingency options with the venue team.

As an open-air lawn, the space is subject to weather conditions, so it is important to plan for contingencies during monsoon season or unseasonal rain. Temporary structures such as marquees or canopies may be an option, but the availability and specifics should be confirmed directly with the MAP Resort team well in advance of the event date.

The open-air, outdoor format of the Lawn makes it a natural fit for baraat processions, which require space and an unobstructed pathway. The resort setting in Chondi also adds to the celebratory atmosphere typically associated with such arrivals. The events team at MAP Resort can advise on procession routes and logistics during the planning stage.

Specific capacity figures for the Lawn depend on the event format — whether seating is theatre-style, banquet, or a combination of dining and open areas — and should be confirmed with the MAP Resort events team. Capacity can also vary based on how much space is allocated to staging, a dance floor, or other functional zones within the lawn area.

Details about in-house catering services and the policy on external caterers at MAP Resort's Lawn should be verified directly with the property. It is advisable to clarify catering options, menu customisation, and any vendor empanelment requirements early in the booking process to avoid last-minute complications.

One of the Lawn's key strengths is its flexibility as an open-format space, allowing event planners to position stages, mandaps, dining arrangements, lounge zones, and dance floors according to the specific needs of each event. Unlike fixed-format indoor halls, there is no preset configuration that hosts must conform to. The MAP Resort team can advise on recommended layouts based on guest count and event type.

Yes, the open-air Lawn is well suited to pre-wedding celebrations including mehendi afternoons and sangeet evenings, where guests benefit from having room to move and dance freely in a resort-style outdoor setting. The natural ambience of the Lawn in Chondi lends itself to the festive, informal character of these functions. Specific setup and décor arrangements can be discussed with the events team.

MAP Resort is a resort property, so on-site accommodation may be available for guests who are travelling from a distance or attending multi-day celebrations. The availability of rooms, group booking rates, and check-in logistics should be confirmed directly with the resort, as these details depend on current availability and the nature of the event.

As a resort property, MAP Resort is expected to have on-site parking for guests, but the extent of parking facilities and any arrangements for large event-day guest volumes should be confirmed with the venue team. It is particularly important to plan parking logistics in advance for large weddings or gatherings with significant guest arrivals expected at a similar time.

Open-air outdoor venues can be subject to local noise regulations or curfew timings that affect late-night music and amplified sound. The applicable rules at MAP Resort's Lawn in Chondi, including any permitted hours for live music or DJs, should be discussed with the venue team during the planning stage to avoid surprises on the event day.

The Chondi location gives MAP Resort the character of a destination venue, offering guests a genuine retreat from urban surroundings and a more relaxed, resort-style atmosphere. This setting is particularly valued for events where organisers want guests to feel a change of pace — making the experience feel like a getaway rather than a conventional city banquet. The self-contained nature of a resort property also means that event infrastructure and guest facilities are available together in one place.

Specific AV equipment, sound systems, and lighting infrastructure available at the Lawn should be confirmed with MAP Resort's events team, as setups can vary based on the nature and scale of the event. Many open-air lawn events involve customised lighting such as string lights, floodlights, or stage lighting arranged by the host's decorator, so it is useful to discuss power supply points and technical support with the venue in advance.

Pricing for the Lawn at MAP Resort depends on the event date, guest count, services required, and any add-ons such as catering or décor packages. Prospective clients are encouraged to reach out to the MAP Resort team through the official website at mapresort.in to request a customised quote and check availability for their preferred date.

Booking terms, advance deposit requirements, and cancellation or rescheduling policies for the Lawn at MAP Resort are set by the property and can vary depending on the event type and date. It is important to review and confirm these terms in writing with the MAP Resort events team before finalising any booking, particularly for large events with significant vendor and guest commitments attached.
