Poolside Lawn

The Poolside Lawn is an open-air outdoor venue set alongside the resort's swimming pool. This gives it a distinct resort-like ambiance but also means that weather conditions are a relevant consideration when planning an event. It is advisable to check with the property about contingency arrangements or temporary shelter options in case of rain.

Exact capacity figures for the Poolside Lawn should be confirmed directly with the Mermaid Resorts & Banquets events team, as the number of guests the space can accommodate may vary depending on the seating layout and event format. Reaching out to the property with the specific setup requirements will help get an accurate figure.

Mermaid Resorts & Banquets is a full-service resort property and offers in-house catering support for events. Planners who prefer a single-vendor approach can coordinate food and beverage requirements directly with the resort. Specific menu options and catering packages are best discussed with the events or catering team.

Policies regarding external caterers and vendors vary by property and event type. It is recommended to check with the Mermaid Resorts & Banquets team about their vendor policy before confirming any third-party suppliers for décor, catering, or entertainment.

The Poolside Lawn is particularly well-suited to evening events, when the poolside setting can be enhanced with ambient and decorative lighting to create a striking atmosphere. The resort can advise on in-house lighting arrangements as well as options for customised lighting setups through their décor coordination. Confirming the specific lighting infrastructure with the events team before booking is recommended.

Unlike an enclosed banquet hall, the Poolside Lawn is an open-air space set against the resort's swimming pool and surrounding greenery, giving events a resort-like, relaxed feel rather than a formal indoor setting. This makes it a popular choice for cocktail functions, pre-wedding celebrations, and social gatherings where the natural environment becomes part of the event's aesthetic. Guests who prefer an outdoor setting with a scenic backdrop often find the lawn more appealing than a traditional hall.

Mermaid Resorts & Banquets is located in Kelambakkam, along the Old Mahabalipuram Road (OMR) corridor in Chennai, Tamil Nadu. OMR connects the city's IT hub areas with the East Coast Road, making the property accessible from both central Chennai and the southern suburbs. Guests travelling from the city or from the OMR tech-park clusters will find the route straightforward via the main OMR arterial road.

Yes, the Kelambakkam location on OMR places the property within easy reach of the IT park clusters along the corridor, making it a practical choice for corporate events and social gatherings where many guests live or work in that stretch. The venue's positioning along one of Chennai's most active suburban hospitality zones adds to its accessibility for this audience.

Mermaid Resorts & Banquets is a resort property, and accommodation availability for event guests should be confirmed directly with the reservations team. Booking rooms alongside the event space is advisable well in advance, particularly for weddings or multi-day functions where guests may be travelling from outside Chennai.

As a resort property, Mermaid Resorts & Banquets is expected to have parking facilities on-site. The specific capacity and any valet or managed parking arrangements for large events should be confirmed with the property when finalising event logistics.

As an open-air venue, the Poolside Lawn may be subject to local noise regulations applicable in the Kelambakkam area. It is important to discuss permitted hours for music and amplification with the resort's events team before finalising the event schedule, especially for late-evening functions.

Mermaid Resorts & Banquets offers multiple event spaces as part of its banquet and resort facilities, and combining the Poolside Lawn with an indoor hall or other areas for a larger or multi-segment event may be possible. The events team at the property can advise on space combinations based on the function's scale and requirements.

Prospective clients can initiate a booking enquiry by contacting the Mermaid Resorts & Banquets events team through their official website at mermaidresorts.in. Providing details such as the event date, expected guest count, and type of function will help the team put together a relevant proposal. Availability is subject to the calendar, so early enquiry is advisable for peak wedding and festive seasons.

Yes, the open-air poolside setting makes the Poolside Lawn a fitting choice for pre-wedding celebrations such as mehendi and sangeet ceremonies, where a relaxed, scenic environment enhances the occasion. The resort's in-house catering and décor support means these functions can be coordinated with minimal need for external vendors. The events team can help tailor the setup to the specific traditions and preferences of the family.
