About Radisson Blu Hotel Amritsar

A five-star address less than five kilometres from the Golden Temple and roughly fifteen minutes from Sri Guru Ram Dass Jee International Airport, Radisson Blu Hotel Amritsar positions itself as the city's most strategically placed full-service property for high-footfall events. Opened on Bal Schander Nagar Road, the hotel brings the global Radisson Blu standard — recognised across more than 300 properties worldwide — to a city where that calibre of infrastructure has historically been scarce. For planners who need international-grade hospitality paired with genuine Punjab accessibility, this is the reference property in Amritsar.

Dedicated Event Spaces for Conferences and Celebrations in Amritsar

The hotel's event floor is anchored by the Grand Ballroom, which accommodates up to 675 guests in a floating or cocktail configuration and scales down to approximately 400 in a banquet-round arrangement. A pre-function foyer adjoins the ballroom, providing a dedicated registration and cocktail-reception zone that keeps arrival flow separate from the main event floor — a practical advantage that planners frequently overlook when comparing venues. Smaller breakout rooms support parallel sessions and board meetings, making the property functional for multi-track MICE programmes. High-speed Wi-Fi, an in-house AV setup with projection and PA systems, and a dedicated banqueting coordinator are confirmed features of the event infrastructure.

Weddings and Corporate Events Served by a Full-Service Property

Punjabi wedding planners and corporate event managers operate on very different briefs, and the hotel serves both with distinct configurations. For weddings — including mehendi, sangeet, and reception functions across consecutive evenings — the ballroom's pillar-free layout and the adjacent outdoor space allow décor teams to turn around themes overnight without spatial compromise. For corporate conferences, theatre-style seating and hollow-square boardroom setups are both available, with natural daylight in select meeting rooms. Catering is managed entirely in-house, covering multi-cuisine menus and bar service, which simplifies vendor coordination for planners. One contextual nuance worth noting: because the property also serves a strong transient hotel guest base, peak weekend dates — particularly during the November-to-February wedding season — tend to fill several months in advance, making early RFP submission essential.

Recognition That Signals Operational Reliability for Event Planners

Radisson Blu Hotel Amritsar carries the Radisson Blu brand certification, which requires each property to meet standardised service and infrastructure benchmarks audited at a global level. For a planner comparing options in Punjab, this brand-level accountability is a meaningful differentiator: it signals consistent banqueting service standards, trained F&B staff ratios, and a complaints-resolution framework that independent venues in the city do not offer. The property has also maintained strong reviewer scores on major OTAs, with guests and event hosts consistently citing staff responsiveness and food quality as standout attributes — two variables that most directly affect live-event outcomes.

Planning Your Event at Amritsar's Landmark Five-Star Venue

The Spalba listing for this property allows planners to check live date availability, review floor-plan dimensions, and submit an RFP directly to the banqueting team without an intermediary call. For corporate teams comparing Amritsar options for an offsite or product launch, the combination of 675-guest peak capacity, on-site accommodation across well-appointed rooms and suites, and airport proximity compresses the logistics checklist considerably. For those shortlisting wedding venues in Punjab, the in-house catering model and multi-function setup capability make multi-day event packages straightforward to price. Use the Spalba enquiry panel to confirm specific dates and request a detailed banquet proposal.

Golden Temple

Golden Temple

The sarovar (holy pool) on the site of the gurdwara was completed by the fourth Sikh Guru, Guru Ram Das, in 1577. In 1604, Guru Arjan, the fifth Sikh Guru, placed a copy of the Adi Granth in the Golden Temple and was a prominent figure in its development. The gurdwara was repeatedly rebuilt by the Sikhs after it became a target of persecution and was destroyed several times by the Mughal and invading Afghan armies. Maharaja Ranjit Singh, after founding the Sikh Empire, rebuilt it in marble and copper in 1809, and overlaid the sanctum with gold leaf in 1830. This has led to the name the Golden Temple.

Jallianwala Bagh

Jallianwala Bagh

On 13 April 1919, a large crowd had gathered at the Jallianwala Bagh in Amritsar, Punjab, British India, during the annual Baisakhi fair to protest against the Rowlatt Act and the arrest of pro-Indian independence activists Saifuddin Kitchlew and Satyapal. In response to the public gathering, the temporary brigadier general R. E. H. Dyer surrounded the people with his Gurkha and Sikh infantry regiments of the British Indian Army. The Jallianwala Bagh could only be exited on one side, as its other three sides were enclosed by buildings. After blocking the exit with his troops, Dyer ordered them to shoot at the crowd, continuing to fire even as the protestors tried to flee. The troops kept on firing until their ammunition was low and they were ordered to stop.
