Poolside Deck

Capacity at the Poolside Deck can vary depending on the event layout — whether it is configured for a seated dinner, a standing cocktail reception, or a staged ceremony setup. The Sugati Beach Resort events team will be best placed to confirm the current figures for your specific event format and requirements.

The Poolside Deck is an open-air venue situated alongside the resort pool, with Ghoghla Beach and the Arabian Sea forming its natural backdrop. As it is an outdoor space, event planners should discuss weather contingency options — such as temporary cover or an alternative indoor space — with the resort team when booking.

Since the Poolside Deck is an open-air venue, weather conditions are a practical consideration, particularly outside Diu's drier months. Planners are encouraged to ask the Sugati Beach Resort team about contingency arrangements, such as marquee or canopy options, or the availability of an alternative covered space on the property.

Sugati Beach Resort is a full resort property, which means guests attending events at the Poolside Deck can be accommodated on-site, removing the need to coordinate off-site hotels. This is especially convenient for multi-day destination celebrations and corporate retreats. Exact room counts and availability should be confirmed directly with the resort.

Diu Airport receives flights from major Indian cities and is the most convenient air access point for the resort. Sugati Beach Resort is located on Ghoghla Beach in Diu, placing it close to the airport. Guests travelling from the Gujarat mainland can also use the Ghoghla ferry connection. The resort team can advise on transfer arrangements upon request.

The Poolside Deck is one of Diu's more distinctive open-air event spaces, offering an Arabian Sea backdrop and a beachside resort setting that suits intimate wedding receptions and pre-wedding functions. Diu's warm coastal climate makes it a viable destination wedding location for much of the year. The resort's on-site accommodation also makes it easier to host outstation guests without logistical complications.

As a resort property, Sugati Beach Resort is expected to offer in-house catering services for events held at the Poolside Deck. Whether outside caterers are permitted is a detail that should be confirmed with the resort's events team before booking.

For outdoor events like those on the Poolside Deck, AV and sound system requirements need to be planned carefully to account for the open-air environment. The Sugati Beach Resort events team can advise on what AV support is available in-house and whether external AV vendors are permitted on the property.

As an open-air deck on Ghoghla Beach, noise levels and event timings may be subject to local regulations in Diu or resort-specific policies. Planners should confirm permitted event hours and any sound restrictions with the Sugati Beach Resort team during the inquiry process, especially for evening events with live music or a DJ.

Many resort event spaces allow décor customisation within certain guidelines, particularly for weddings and milestone celebrations. Whether florals, lighting installations, themed décor, or external decorators are permitted at the Poolside Deck should be discussed with the Sugati Beach Resort events team, who can also advise on any restrictions near the pool area.

As a beach resort property, Sugati Beach Resort is likely to have parking facilities for guests. The specific parking capacity and any arrangements for large event groups should be confirmed with the resort directly when planning the event.

Accessibility at the Poolside Deck — including ramp access, surface type, and proximity to accessible guest rooms — should be confirmed with the Sugati Beach Resort team, as outdoor deck spaces can vary in their accessibility features. The resort team will be best placed to advise based on the specific needs of your guests.

Prospective event planners can reach out to the Sugati Beach Resort team directly through the resort's official website at sugati.in to request availability and a quote for the Poolside Deck. It is helpful to share the event date, expected guest count, and event format when making an inquiry to receive an accurate proposal.

For events that require a greater footprint — such as multi-function weddings with separate ceremony, reception, and dining areas — it may be possible to use the Poolside Deck alongside other spaces on the property. The Sugati Beach Resort events team can advise on how the deck integrates with the rest of the venue for multi-space event planning.
