Greenways is an open-air event lawn at The Raintree, Anna Salai, set within one of Chennai's most recognised heritage hotel properties. The space takes its name and character from the tree canopy that defines the Raintree brand — a sense of shade, greenery, and natural calm that is rare to find along the Anna Salai corridor. As an outdoor venue, Greenways offers an al fresco atmosphere that feels removed from the urban bustle just beyond the property gates, making it a distinctive choice for events that benefit from open skies and garden surroundings.
The lawn's natural setting lends itself to a wide range of event formats. Guests and planners choosing Greenways typically value its combination of greenery and the credibility of a full-service hotel backdrop — a pairing that standalone banquet gardens rarely offer. The Raintree's culinary team supports events at Greenways with catering drawn from the hotel's established food and beverage programme, bringing restaurant-grade food service to an outdoor setting.
Greenways suits a broad spectrum of occasions. Wedding celebrations — including mehendi ceremonies, sangeet evenings, cocktail receptions, and post-wedding brunches — are a natural fit for the open lawn format, where décor teams have room to create elaborate floral and lighting installations under the open sky. Corporate clients use the space for outdoor team events, evening networking receptions, product launch gatherings, and cultural programmes where an informal, garden-party ambience is preferred over a conventional banquet hall.
Social celebrations such as milestone birthday parties, anniversary dinners, and festive gatherings also find the lawn well-suited, particularly for evening events when the space can be lit and styled to reflect a chosen theme. The hotel's events team works with external decorators and vendors, and the on-site coordination support helps planners manage setup logistics within a managed hotel environment.
The Raintree, Anna Salai sits on one of Chennai's most storied arterial roads, in the Teynampet area of the city. Anna Salai — also known as Mount Road — connects several of Chennai's key commercial and cultural landmarks, placing the property within easy reach of the central business district, major government offices, and cultural institutions. The address is well-known to auto-rickshaw and cab services across the city, and the property is accessible from Chennai Central railway station and Chennai Airport via the main road network.
For guests travelling from different parts of the city or arriving from out of town, the hotel's on-site accommodation means that out-of-station attendees can stay on the property, simplifying logistics for multi-day events or occasions with guests arriving from multiple cities. The combination of a central Chennai address, a recognisable hotel name, and dedicated event support makes Greenways at The Raintree, Anna Salai a compelling option for planners who need both an evocative outdoor setting and the operational reliability of an established hotel.
