Cabinet is a dedicated event and meeting space within The South Park, one of Thiruvananthapuram's most established hotel addresses, located in the heart of Palayam. The room takes its name from its intimate, boardroom-style character — a setting that feels purposeful and focused rather than cavernous. The interiors strike a balance between classic hotel formality and functional comfort, making it a space that works equally well for high-stakes decision-making sessions and smaller celebratory gatherings. The South Park itself is a landmark property in Kerala's capital, and Cabinet carries that legacy of professional hospitality into every event it hosts.
The venue is suited to groups that value privacy, attentive service, and a setting with genuine character. Natural light, where present, is complemented by controlled artificial lighting that can be adjusted to suit the mood of the occasion — from the crisp brightness of a morning briefing to the warmer tones of an evening reception. The South Park's events team manages the space with the same operational standards applied across the hotel's wider portfolio of banqueting and conference facilities.
Cabinet is best positioned for corporate and professional events: executive meetings, strategy sessions, board discussions, product presentations, and training workshops. Its enclosed, self-contained format also makes it a practical choice for social occasions requiring an element of exclusivity — private dinners, intimate celebrations, and curated networking events among them.
The South Park's in-house culinary and banqueting teams support events in Cabinet with catering options that draw on the hotel's established food and beverage programme. From tea and coffee breaks served during a half-day meeting to a multi-course private dinner, the catering can be tailored to the nature and duration of the event. This end-to-end service model means organisers can focus on their agenda rather than coordinating multiple vendors.
For event planners working in Thiruvananthapuram, Cabinet offers something that standalone banquet venues often cannot: the backing of a full-service hotel, including reception, concierge, and accommodation support for outstation attendees, all under one roof.
Palayam places Cabinet — and The South Park — squarely in the commercial and civic core of Thiruvananthapuram. The neighbourhood is walkable from the city's central bus terminus and is well connected by road to Thiruvananthapuram Central railway station and Trivandrum International Airport, both of which are within a manageable distance from the hotel. For delegates and guests arriving from outside the city, The South Park's location means minimal transfer time and straightforward orientation on arrival.
The surrounding area includes government offices, business districts, and key city landmarks, making Cabinet a practical choice for events where participants are drawn from across the city or are travelling in for the occasion. Parking facilities available at or near the property add further convenience for those arriving by private vehicle. The combination of a central Palayam address, full hotel infrastructure, and a professionally managed event space makes Cabinet a reliable and well-rounded choice for discerning event hosts in Kerala's capital.
