Resorts in Shillong

Shillong's resort landscape currently features a verified venue on Spalba, situated in the scenic Umiam locality on the outskirts of the city. That venue — La Nicholas - Lake View (by Summit Hotels), Shillong — offers a self-contained, full-service retreat setting with multiple event spaces, making it a strong candidate for groups ranging from intimate gatherings to mid-sized celebrations of up to 500 guests.

The Resort on Offer: What La Nicholas - Lake View Brings

La Nicholas - Lake View by Summit Hotels stands out for the variety of spaces it hosts under one roof. The property features two dedicated lawns — Lawn 1 and Lawn 2 — alongside a Banquet Hall, giving event planners genuine flexibility when deciding on an indoor or outdoor configuration. Whether you are planning a corporate retreat, a family function, or a social gathering, the ability to mix open-air and enclosed spaces within a single resort is a practical advantage that few standalone venues in the Shillong region can match.

Capacity Planning: 100 to 500 Guests

For groups planning events in this category, La Nicholas - Lake View accommodates between 100 and 500 guests, with the typical booking range sitting squarely in that 100–500 window. The venue's multiple spaces — its two lawns and its banquet hall — mean that smaller gatherings of around 100 can be comfortably hosted without the event feeling sparse, while larger assemblies scaling toward 500 can be managed across the available spaces. There are no venues in this category currently listed for audiences exceeding 600, so planners with very large guest counts may need to consider supplementary arrangements.

Location: Umiam, Shillong

The resort is located in Umiam, a locality set along the Umiam Lake corridor to the north of Shillong city. Umiam's natural surroundings — elevated terrain and lakeside scenery — lend a retreat-like quality that is core to what a resort venue delivers. For guests travelling from Shillong's central areas, Umiam is accessible and offers a clear change of setting, making it well suited to events where the ambience of the destination itself is part of the experience. Spalba's 3D virtual tour feature lets planners explore the property remotely before committing to a site visit.
