Kerala's four-star hotel landscape is one of the most varied in India — 79 listed properties spanning backwater resorts, hill-station retreats, heritage bungalows, and lakeside estates. From Kumarakom and Vythiri to Fort Kochi and Kovalam, this tier delivers elevated comfort and business-ready infrastructure across the state's most sought-after destinations, making it a strong fit for corporate events, weddings, and social gatherings alike.
The Venue Mix Across Kerala
The range within this category is genuinely wide. Windflower Resorts & Spa Vythiri Wayanad and Vythiri Village Resort anchor the Wayanad hill circuit, while Gokulam Grand Resort and Spa Kumarakom and Niraamaya Retreats Backwaters & Beyond, Kumarakom represent the backwater resort cluster. Coconut Lagoon - CGH Earth Resort brings a distinctive eco-resort character, while Abad Dutch Bungalow, Elphinstone Road, Fort Kochi sits within Fort Kochi's heritage precinct. Club Mahindra Arookutty, Alleppey and The Classik Fort round out a mix that spans nature retreats, resort chains, and character properties. Venue spaces across these hotels include Sabari Halls, Ceremony Halls, Boat Bays, and multiple lawn configurations — Big Lawn, Small Lawn, and open Lawn settings — giving planners genuine variety in event format.
Capacity: What the Numbers Tell You
With a capacity floor of 6 guests and a ceiling of 1,500, this category covers a broad planning range. The typical event here falls between 50 and 250 guests — and that is reflected in the data: 97 of the listed event spaces seat fewer than 200, making this tier particularly well-suited to intimate corporate off-sites, small-to-mid-sized weddings, and curated social events. For larger gatherings, 10 spaces across the category can accommodate 600 or more. Planners putting together a gathering of under 100 will find the widest selection; those scaling toward 500+ should filter specifically for the larger properties and confirm banquet configurations directly.
