The Venue Mix in Shillong

Hotel Polo Towers, Shillong offers spaces that include the Pavillion Hall and The Den Board Room, catering to both large gatherings and smaller formal meetings. Woodstock Farmhouse, Shillong brings a distinctive character with its Woodstock Banquet Hall and an open Lawn option. Capacity: Matching the Right Hall to Your Guest List
Halls in Shillong range from a minimum of 10 guests up to a maximum of 500, with a typical working capacity of 50 to 190 guests. This makes them well suited to mid-scale events — corporate seminars, family receptions, and milestone celebrations where guest counts sit comfortably in the two-figure to low-three-figure range. All 15 venues in the intimate-under-200 bracket fall within this city's stock, and there are currently no halls in the large-over-600 category, so planners expecting very large gatherings should confirm capacity requirements carefully before shortlisting.
Where These Halls Are Located
Shillong's banquet halls are concentrated in a few distinct pockets. Police Bazar, the city's commercial heart, gives easy access for in-city guests. Umsaw and Umiam, situated along the outskirts towards the reservoir belt, offer a quieter setting that suits destination-style events — the Umiam Ballroom at Courtyard by Marriott is a notable example from this zone. Knowing which locality works for your guests can meaningfully shape both logistics and the overall event experience.
