Cherthala's current listing for convocation venues features one verified property suited to formal academic graduation ceremonies. The available venue is set in the Thanneermukkom locality and offers a lawn space accommodating up to 150 guests — making it a considered option for institutions organising smaller, intimate convocation gatherings in this part of Kerala.
The Venue on Spalba
KTDC Kumarakom Gateway is the listed convocation venue in Cherthala at present. Situated in Thanneermukkom, this property offers a lawn setting that lends itself to open-air graduation ceremonies. For institutions seeking a serene, non-urban backdrop for their convocation, the location along this stretch of Kerala's backwater region provides a distinctive atmosphere that sets it apart from conventional indoor halls.
Capacity Guidance for This City
With a capacity of 150, KTDC Kumarakom Gateway falls squarely in the intimate-gathering bracket. This makes it well suited for departmental convocations, smaller institution cohorts, or satellite graduation events rather than full-campus ceremonies involving hundreds of attendees. Institutions expecting a guest count well above 150 — including families accompanying graduates — should factor this limit carefully when shortlisting the venue. The single capacity tier available here (150–150) means there is no graduated-hall option presently listed within this city's convocation category.
Locality: Thanneermukkom
The venue sits in Thanneermukkom, a locality known for its proximity to the Vembanad Lake and connected by road to Cherthala town. For institutions based in or around Alappuzha district, this location is accessible while offering a setting that differs considerably from a standard campus auditorium. Planners should account for travel logistics for outstation guests and ensure the outdoor lawn arrangement suits the ceremony's formality requirements.
