Guwahati offers 15 venues suited to formal academic graduation ceremonies, spanning a wide range of setups — from compact banquet halls to large pillar-free event spaces. The city's stock skews practical: 31 of the listed venues seat fewer than 200 guests, making Guwahati particularly well-supplied for departmental or batch-level convocations, while 5 venues can comfortably host gatherings of 600 or more. Localities spread across the city — from Khanapara and GS Road to Pan Bazaar and Beltola — mean institutions across Guwahati are never far from a viable venue.
The Venue Mix Available
The convocation venues listed on Spalba for Guwahati include a blend of full-service hotels and dedicated event properties. Vivanta Guwahati and Radisson Blu Hotel, Guwahati are among the marquee names, offering multi-hall configurations such as Joysagar, Joysagar 1, Joysagar 2, and Rudrasagar — all suited to staged academic ceremonies. Mid-scale options include Hotel SJ International, KIRANSHREE GRAND HOTEL, and Hotel Prag Continental, while Hotel Rodali Residency, Click Hotel Guwahati, and Hotel Priya Palace round out the selection for smaller, more contained ceremonies. The presence of boardroom-style spaces like the Boardroom and Aador 1 further extends the range for faculty-only or award-presentation segments.
Matching Capacity to Your Ceremony
The capacity range across Guwahati's convocation venues runs from as few as 8 to as many as 3,500 guests, with the typical hall accommodating 60–250 attendees. For most institutional convocations — where a single batch or department is being honoured — the majority of venues here are a direct fit. For university-wide or multi-faculty ceremonies requiring a larger audience, the 5 venues rated above 600 become the practical shortlist. It is worth confirming specific hall configurations early, as several properties offer multiple named halls that can be combined or partitioned to suit the precise headcount.
Where Venues Are Located
Guwahati's convocation venues are distributed across 14 distinct localities. Properties in Khanapara and Six Mile, Khanapara are well-placed for institutions on the city's eastern corridor, while venues in Pan Bazaar, Paltan Bazaar, and Silphukuri provide central access. For institutions based closer to the southern or western stretches, options in Ganeshguri, Beltola, GS Road, and Rukmini Gaon offer convenient proximity. Localities such as Odalbakra, Wireless, Tetelia, Mirzapur, and Ganakpara add further geographic spread, reducing travel burden for students and faculty attending from different parts of the city.
