Event Venues in Chilika

Chilika, best known for Asia's largest brackish water lagoon, has a curated but distinctive stock of event venues — currently anchored by one well-appointed property in the Odia Alapur locality. That property, Swosti Chilika Resort, brings together six separate event spaces under one roof, covering intimate gatherings of 25 guests and scaled celebrations of up to 500, making it a genuinely versatile option for planners coming to this part of coastal Odisha.

The Venue on Offer

Swosti Chilika Resort is the standout property for event venues in Chilika. It hosts six distinct spaces: Ektara Lawn, Tanger Lawn, and Shehnai Lawn for open-air functions, alongside the enclosed halls — Maple 1, Mahogany, and Chestnut — for those preferring an indoor setting. This mix of lawns and halls within a single resort gives planners the flexibility to configure outdoor ceremonies alongside indoor dining or programme areas, all without shifting to a different address.

Matching Capacity to Your Event

The capacity range across Swosti Chilika Resort's spaces runs from 25 to 500 guests, with most individual halls and lawns comfortably seating between 70 and 260 — making the property best suited to mid-scale social and celebratory events. Three of its six spaces fall under the 200-guest mark, which suits milestone birthdays, family reunions, and smaller social gatherings particularly well. For those planning a full 500-person event, the larger lawns — Ektara Lawn, Tanger Lawn, and Shehnai Lawn — offer the necessary open area to accommodate that scale.

Location: Odia Alapur

All event spaces here sit within the Odia Alapur area of Chilika, placing guests within reach of the lagoon's scenic surroundings. For organisers travelling from Bhubaneswar or Puri, this lakeside locality is well connected by road and adds a natural backdrop that is difficult to replicate in a purely urban setting. The resort's consolidated campus in Odia Alapur also simplifies logistics, since catering, accommodation, and event spaces are co-located at a single venue.
