Wayanad's hotel landscape currently lists 5 properties on Spalba, spanning the district's mist-covered hills from Lakkidi and Kalpetta to Thariyode, Manjoora, and Kavumannam. The mix ranges from intimate forest retreats to full-service resorts with dedicated event spaces — making this a genuinely varied shortlist for planners scouting stays that double as event venues in the Western Ghats.

The Venues on Spalba

The five properties reflect the breadth of Wayanad's hospitality stock. Arayal Resort-A Unit of Sharoy Resort brings an open-air dimension through its Arayal Lawn and Open Air Theater — well-suited to outdoor ceremonies and evening gatherings. Oshin Wayanad offers two distinct event spaces: the Oshin Rooftop Banquet on the 5th floor and an Oshin Banquet Hall at ground level, giving organisers flexibility within a single property. At the premium end, Taj Wayanad Resort & Spa Kerala brings the Taj group's service standards to the hills, while Feel Free Retreat by Dimora, Wayanad and Abad Brookside Lakkidi, Wayanad round out the set with their own distinctive event spaces — Silver Oak 1 and Southern Spice respectively — adding further variety to the venue mix.

Capacities Across the District

Wayanad's hotel venues cover a wide spectrum — from gatherings as intimate as 16 guests to events scaling up to 750. The typical sweet spot across the listed properties sits between 80 and 160 guests, which aligns well with mid-sized corporate offsites, destination weddings, and family events. Of the 11 venue spaces mapped, 10 fall under 200 guests, making this destination particularly strong for smaller, curated events. Only one space clears 600 — so for large-format conferences or receptions at that scale, availability is limited and early engagement with that property is advisable.

Where Venues Sit in Wayanad

The listed hotels are distributed across several distinct pockets of the district. Lakkidi, perched at the Wayanad Ghat, is home to Abad Brookside. Kalpetta's Madathumpadi neighbourhood hosts another property, placing it close to the district's commercial hub. Manjoora, Thariyode, and Kavumannam round out the spread, ensuring that planners looking for a more remote, forested setting have options away from the busier roads. Each locality carries a different character, so the choice of area can shape the overall experience of an event as much as the venue itself.
