Cherthala's current stock of indoor venues on Spalba stands at 2 properties, spread across the backwater-adjacent localities of Thanneermukkom and Vayalar. Both are resort-anchored properties that offer enclosed, climate-controlled spaces — a practical advantage given Kerala's monsoon-heavy calendar — with capacities ranging from 150 to 900 guests. If you need a weather-proof setting for a social celebration, a formal gathering, or a corporate event, this is where to begin your search.
The Venues on the Ground
The two properties currently listed represent Cherthala's resort-style indoor offering. KTDC Kumarakom Gateway brings the backing of a government hospitality brand to the region, while Plumeria Lake Resort & Spa offers a lakeside resort setting. Between them, the venue types present include Sabha Hall and Amphi Theatre spaces, giving planners a choice between a more traditional hall format and a tiered, performance-oriented arrangement.
Capacity Across the Range
Cherthala's indoor venues cover a broad capacity band — from a minimum of 150 guests up to a maximum of 900. The typical range you can plan around is 180 to 900. Both properties are capable of hosting intimate gatherings under 200 guests, making them accessible for smaller celebrations, while one venue can scale to above 600, accommodating large weddings, receptions, or sizable corporate functions. This spread means the same locality serves events of very different scales without requiring a venue change.
Where Venues Are Located
Indoor venue availability in Cherthala is currently concentrated in two localities: Thanneermukkom and Vayalar. Both sit within Cherthala's backwater geography, close to the Vembanad Lake shoreline. For guests travelling from Kochi or Alappuzha, both localities are accessible via NH66 and the state highway network. The waterfront character of these areas lends the indoor spaces a distinctive setting that is rare in more urban venue markets.
Staying in the Right Category
The venues listed here are classified as enclosed indoor spaces. If you are specifically seeking a dedicated banquet setup, the banquet-halls category covers that. For seminar or performance needs, browse auditoriums or conference-rooms. And if open-air or garden settings are what your event calls for, outdoor-venues lists those separately.
