Cherthala's backwater setting shapes its private party venue stock in a distinctive way. Spalba lists 2 exclusive-use venues here, spanning capacities from 150 to 900 guests — a compact but characterful selection anchored along the Vembanad Lake corridor. Both properties offer the whole venue to yourself, making them suited to hosts who want full privacy and control over their event environment.
The Venues: What Cherthala Offers
The two properties on Spalba bring meaningfully different environments to the table. KTDC Kumarakom Gateway sits near Thanneermukkom and presents multiple event formats under one booking, including a Sabha Hall and a Main Lawn — useful when you want the flexibility to move guests between an indoor and outdoor setting. Plumeria Lake Resort & Spa, located closer to Vayalar, offers a Lawn and an Amphi Theatre, lending it a resort-style, open-air character that works well for celebrations with an evening outdoor component. Across both properties, the venue types present include Lawn, Sabha Hall, Main Lawn, and Amphi Theatre.
Capacity Guidance for Your Guest List
The combined capacity range across these private party venues in Cherthala runs from 150 to 900 guests, with a typical operating band of 180–900. Both venues can accommodate gatherings just under the 200-guest mark, making them viable even for moderately sized private events. For larger celebrations, one venue scales up to 900 guests — a genuinely large capacity that fits milestone occasions such as anniversaries, family reunions, or grand private receptions. If your guest count sits comfortably below 200, you have the choice of either property; above 600, the larger of the two is the appropriate fit.
Where These Venues Are Located
Cherthala's private party venues cluster around two localities: Thanneermukkom and Vayalar. Both lie within easy reach of the Alappuzha–Ernakulam corridor, making them accessible to guests travelling from Kochi or Alappuzha by road. The lakeside proximity of these localities also adds a natural scenic backdrop that is specific to this part of Kerala and not easily replicated in an urban banquet setting.
Exploring Related Event Space Categories
Exclusive-use bookings are not the only way to host in Cherthala. If you are weighing options that do not require taking over an entire property, party halls offer dedicated banquet spaces suited to a range of gatherings. For smaller celebrations, small party halls list venues calibrated to tighter guest counts. Hosts looking for an outdoor, nature-immersive setting may also find what they need under farmhouse venues.
