Lawn

The Lawn is an outdoor, open-air space, which means it is directly affected by weather conditions. Given the hill-station climate of Bhimtal, organisers should discuss weather contingency options — such as temporary canopy or shamiyana arrangements — with the resort team when planning an event. It is advisable to have a backup plan or indoor alternative identified at the time of booking.

Exact capacity figures for the Lawn depend on the event format, seating arrangement, and any additional structures such as a stage or mandap. Prospective clients are encouraged to reach out to the Excel Hotels And Resorts Bhimtal events team directly for a layout-specific capacity assessment.

The Lawn's location on the Bhowali–Bhimtal Road, close to Bhimtal Lake and surrounded by the Kumaon hillscape, makes it a compelling destination wedding venue. The natural scenery provides a visually distinctive backdrop for wedding ceremonies and photography. Guests can also combine the celebration with a stay in the region, adding a leisure dimension to the occasion.

Yes, the open-air character of the Lawn makes it well-suited to pre-wedding functions including mehendi, sangeet, and haldi ceremonies, which typically benefit from natural light, outdoor space, and room for music and movement. The resort setting adds to the festive atmosphere. The events team can assist with décor and logistics for multi-function wedding programmes.

The Lawn can be customised with a range of décor arrangements depending on the occasion, including floral mandaps, fairy-light canopies, themed setups for social events, and clean minimal configurations for professional gatherings. The resort's events team coordinates decorations and can work with preferred vendors or suggest arrangements. Specific options and any vendor policies should be discussed directly with the property.

Excel Hotels And Resorts Bhimtal is a resort property, which means guest accommodation is available on-site. This is particularly useful for destination events where guests are travelling from other cities. Room availability, room block arrangements, and group rates for event guests should be confirmed with the reservations team.

As a resort property, Excel Hotels And Resorts Bhimtal is expected to provide in-house catering services for events. Specific catering packages, menu options, and any policy on external caterers should be verified with the resort directly.

Outdoor event spaces like the Lawn often require dedicated AV and lighting setups including sound systems, microphones, and ambient or stage lighting, especially for evening events. Whether the resort provides this in-house or works with external AV vendors should be confirmed when planning the event. The events team is the right point of contact to understand what is included and what can be arranged.

The nearest major railway station is Kathgodam, which is approximately 30 kilometres from Bhimtal and is well connected by train to Delhi and other northern Indian cities. From Kathgodam, guests can travel to the resort by road via Bhowali. The resort can advise on local transport options or transfers for event guests arriving by train.

Outdoor events in hill-station areas of Uttarakhand may be subject to local noise regulations or resort-specific curfew timings for amplified music. This is especially relevant for evening functions such as sangeet nights or DJ-based celebrations. Organisers should confirm the applicable timings and any restrictions directly with the resort before finalising the event programme.

Yes, the Lawn and the surrounding resort environment are suited to corporate retreats and team outings that benefit from a change of setting away from urban office spaces. The combination of outdoor space and in-house accommodation makes it practical for multi-activity programmes. Specific arrangements for corporate groups, including any AV or meeting requirements, can be discussed with the resort's events team.
