Indira Gandhi Musical Fountain Park
True to its moniker “City of Gardens”, Bangalore boasts of a modern cityscape interspersed with numerous parks, gardens, and tree-lined boulevards. While each of these green spaces serves as great spots for morning walks, evening strolls, and short picnics, one park stands out from all the rest, namely the Indira Gandhi Musical Fountain Park. Located in the central part of the city, it is apparently the first park in the country with a computerized musical fountain. In addition to the spectacular multimedia-based dancing fountain show held in the evenings, the park has lush green trees, well-manicured lawns, and a play area for kids, among others.

National Military Memorial
Established by the Government of Karnataka, the National Military Memorial (NMM) is dedicated to the soldiers who laid down their lives for the country. The memorial sits on 7.5 acres of lush green space in the heart of the city, next to the Indira Gandhi Musical Fountain Park. An initiative of M.K. Chandrasekhar, a former pilot in the Indian Air Force, and his son Rajeev Chandrasekhar, an ex-MP and founder of the Flags of Honour Foundation, the memorial was designed as a space to commemorate the sacrifice and bravery of the Indian Armed Forces. The Bengaluru Development Authority (BDA) was assigned the task of overseeing the project by the state government.
