Cocktail Party Venues in Shillong

Shillong has 5 cocktail party venues listed on Spalba, spanning hotel banquet halls, open lawns, and intimate boardroom-style spaces. The stock ranges from established hospitality names near Police Bazar to scenic lakeside properties in Umiam — a mix that makes the city a notably versatile base for a standing, drinks-led reception, whether you are hosting a small corporate gathering or a larger social event.

The Venue Mix: Hotels, Lawns, and Unique Spaces

The range of venue types available for cocktail parties in Shillong is wider than the headline number suggests. Hotel Polo Towers, Shillong offers the Pavillion Hall and The Den Board Room — two distinct formats under one roof. Woodstock Farmhouse, Shillong brings a Woodstock Banquet Hall alongside lawn space, giving hosts the option of an indoor-outdoor cocktail flow. On the hotel side, Courtyard by Marriott Shillong features the Umiam Ballroom, while Courtyard Shillong and La Nicholas - Lake View (by Summit Hotels), Shillong round out the listing with additional hall and lawn configurations, including the Nohkalikai space at La Nicholas.

Capacity: Matching Your Guest Count

Across these five venues, capacities run from as few as 10 guests up to 500, with the typical cocktail-reception configuration falling in the 50–190 range. That sweet spot covers the majority of corporate sundowners, post-conference receptions, and mid-size social cocktail evenings that planners in Shillong most commonly organise. All 15 intimate-configuration options (under 200 guests) sit within this pool, and there are no venues here that tip into the large-format bracket above 600 — so if you are planning a smaller, more curated standing reception, this city's stock is well suited to that need.

Where Venues Are Located

Shillong's cocktail venues cluster across three key areas. Police Bazar, the city's central commercial hub, offers the most accessible options for guests arriving from across town. Umsaw and Umiam, situated closer to the lake corridor on the outskirts, provide venues with more open-air and scenic settings — particularly relevant if an outdoor lawn element matters to your event format. Your choice of locality will naturally influence the atmosphere and logistical convenience of your cocktail event.
