Poolside

Yes, the Poolside is an open-air setting adjacent to the hotel's outdoor pool area, which means it is subject to weather conditions. The Orchid Hotel Chandigarh is a full-service property with indoor banquet options that can serve as a weather contingency. Guests are advised to confirm the hotel's weather backup arrangements directly with the events team when making a booking.

The open-air, poolside setting is a popular choice for pre-wedding functions such as mehndi and sangeet ceremonies, where a vibrant, informal atmosphere is preferred over a conventional ballroom. Its visual appeal — with the pool as a backdrop — creates a natural stage for performances, décor, and photography. Specific availability and wedding package details should be confirmed with the hotel's events team.

The Orchid Hotel Chandigarh is located in Zirakpur, Punjab, which places it in relatively close proximity to Chandigarh International Airport. The exact travel time will vary depending on traffic and the specific route taken. It is recommended to check current distances and directions via a mapping service or to ask the hotel for the latest travel guidance when coordinating guest arrivals.

Zirakpur sits at the junction of routes connecting all three cities of the Tricity — Chandigarh, Mohali, and Panchkula — making the property accessible by road from each. The hotel's location on the NH-7 Chandigarh–Ambala corridor further aids connectivity for guests travelling from across Punjab and Haryana. Guests are encouraged to use a navigation app for real-time directions to the property.

Yes, The Orchid Hotel Chandigarh is a full-service hotel with on-site guest accommodation, which is a practical advantage for events like weddings or multi-day corporate programmes where out-of-town guests need to stay over. This means attendees can move seamlessly between the Poolside event and their rooms without arranging external transport. The number of available rooms and room-block arrangements for events should be confirmed directly with the hotel.

As a full-service hotel, The Orchid Hotel Chandigarh has in-house catering capabilities that can be deployed for Poolside events. This typically covers menu planning, food and beverage service, and bar arrangements. Specific menu options, dietary accommodations, and whether outside catering vendors are permitted should be discussed with the hotel's events team.

Open-air poolside venues generally allow for significant décor flexibility, including floral arrangements, lighting setups, draping, and themed installations that leverage the water and sky as natural backdrops. Whether the hotel works with an in-house décor team or preferred vendors, and any restrictions that may apply near the pool area, should be confirmed when planning with the events coordinator.

Hotels of The Orchid Chandigarh's category typically provide or can arrange audio-visual support including sound systems, microphones, and lighting for outdoor events. However, open-air venues can have specific sound and amplification considerations, including any local noise restrictions that apply in the Zirakpur area. Clients should discuss their AV requirements in detail with the events team to ensure the right setup is arranged.

Open-air events in residential and commercial areas of the Tricity region, including Zirakpur, can be subject to local noise ordinances and curfew timings set by local authorities. The hotel's events team would be the best source for current information on permissible hours for amplified music and outdoor events. It is advisable to raise this question early in the planning process to avoid surprises on the day.

The Orchid Hotel Chandigarh is a full-service hotel property, and hotel venues in this category generally provide parking facilities for guests. The capacity of the parking area and whether managed or valet parking is available for larger events should be confirmed with the hotel directly, particularly for events expecting a high number of vehicles.

Interested clients can reach out to The Orchid Hotel Chandigarh's events or banqueting team directly through the hotel's official website at orchidhotel.com or by contacting the property by phone or email. Sharing the event date, estimated guest count, and type of occasion will help the team provide a tailored proposal. Availability for popular dates — particularly wedding season weekends — is best checked well in advance.

The Orchid Hotel brand is known for its eco-friendly positioning and sustainability practices across its properties. This commitment to responsible hospitality may influence the materials, products, and vendors used in event setups. Clients who share an interest in sustainable event practices may find this an added reason to consider the venue; specific eco-practices at the Chandigarh property can be confirmed with the hotel.

The Poolside's open-air, relaxed setting makes it a good fit for corporate events that benefit from an informal atmosphere, such as team outings, networking evenings, or celebratory dinners. Moving a corporate gathering to an outdoor poolside environment within the same hotel property offers a change of scene that can encourage more informal interaction among attendees. Specific layouts, capacity, and catering options for corporate formats should be discussed with the hotel's events team.

Full-service hotels like The Orchid Chandigarh typically offer multiple event spaces that can be used in combination across different functions of a single celebration — for example, pairing an indoor banquet hall for a formal dinner with the Poolside for a cocktail reception or pre-wedding function. The availability of combined-space packages and the logistics of moving guests between spaces should be explored with the property's banqueting team.
