The Venues on Spalba

Both venues bring their own character to an event. KTDC Kumarakom Gateway is a government-heritage property well suited to larger gatherings, while Plumeria Lake Resort & Spa offers a resort setting with multiple event spaces. Between them, the venue types present include a Lawn, a Main Lawn, a Sabha Hall, and an Amphi Theatre — an unusually varied spread for a town of Cherthala's scale, giving planners genuine flexibility across indoor, outdoor, and semi-open formats.

Capacity Across Cherthala's Venues

Guest count is often the first filter any planner applies. The typical capacity range across listed venues runs from 180 to 900, with a minimum floor of 150. Both venues can accommodate gatherings under 200, making them viable even for more intimate functions, while one venue scales up to 900 — appropriate for large community events, receptions, or institutional gatherings. If your headcount sits in the mid-range, either venue warrants a closer look; if you need the upper end, the larger property in this set is the natural fit.

Where These Venues Are Located

The two venues are distributed across Thanneermukkom and Vayalar — both areas closely linked to the backwaters and the Vembanad Lake region. Thanneermukkom, known for the longest lake road bridge in India, sits at the geographic heart of the region, while Vayalar sits along the coast. This distribution means there is a realistic venue option regardless of which part of Cherthala or its approaches your guests are travelling from.
