Fateh Sagar Lake, an enchanting expanse of water, is embraced by the sublime beauty of the hills around it. Originally, it was a man-made lake that was constructed by the brilliant mind of Maharana Jai Singh in 1678 AD, located to the north of Lake Pichola. In 1884-1930 AD, during the reign of Maharana Fateh Singh, it was reconstructed after the earthen bund (dam) was washed away in floods. As a tribute to the Duke of Connaught's visit, the Maharana built Connaught Dam, which renamed the lake to Fateh Sagar Lake.

Fateh Sagar Lake is one of Udaipur's four majestic lakes and is home to three small islands, each with its unique charm. The largest of them all is Nehru Island, which is famous among tourists for its picturesque beauty. The second island boasts a public park and an awe-inspiring water-jet fountain.
