Island

Island is an open-air venue, meaning guests experience the natural surroundings of Ibiza The Fern Resort & Spa as an integral part of the setting. The outdoor format brings in natural light, fresh air, and views of the resort's waterfront landscape. Those planning events should discuss weather contingency options with the venue team, particularly for monsoon-season dates.

Specific capacity figures for Island depend on the event format — seated dining, cocktail-style receptions, and ceremony layouts all accommodate different numbers of guests. It is best to speak with the Ibiza The Fern events team directly to obtain accurate capacity details for your planned setup and seating arrangement.

Island sits within the resort's waterfront property in Shirakol, where water features, palm-shaded pathways, and manicured tropical gardens frame the venue naturally. This environment reduces the need for extensive artificial décor, as the setting itself provides a visually rich backdrop. The sense of seclusion from the city adds a resort-escape quality that is particularly valued for weddings and milestone celebrations.

Ibiza The Fern Resort & Spa has its own food and beverage operations, and in-house catering is available for events held at Island. Whether outside caterers are permitted is subject to the resort's vendor policy, which should be confirmed with the events team when making an inquiry. The team can advise on menu customisation and cuisine options to suit the event.

The natural tropical landscape of the venue provides a ready-made aesthetic foundation, and event stylists can work with this canvas to layer additional floral arrangements, lighting installations, and themed décor. The resort's events team can advise on approved décor vendors and any guidelines around installations in the open-air space. Clients should discuss specific décor visions during the planning stage to confirm what is feasible.

As an open-air venue, sound and AV requirements at Island will vary by event type and layout. The resort's events team can advise on available in-house AV equipment and any technical specifications or sound restrictions that apply to the outdoor setting. For larger productions, external AV vendors may need to be arranged, subject to the property's vendor policy.

Island's open-air format and tropical surroundings make it a strong choice for both wedding ceremonies and receptions, as the same setting can be transformed between the two phases of the event with creative lighting and décor. The resort's events team can walk couples through layout options for combining ceremony and reception in the space. Additional event areas within the property may also be available for pre-wedding functions, allowing the entire wedding programme to be hosted on site.

The resort is located in Shirakol, a riverside locality on the outskirts of Kolkata, West Bengal. It is accessible from the city via the main road network connecting Shirakol to Kolkata's central districts. The exact travel time will depend on the point of origin and traffic conditions, and the resort's team can provide specific directions upon inquiry.

Parking facilities are available on the resort property, making the venue accessible for guests arriving by private vehicle. Detailed parking arrangements for large events, including any valet or managed parking services, should be confirmed with the events team during the planning process.

Ibiza The Fern Resort & Spa is a full resort property and offers on-site guest accommodation, making it convenient for events where out-of-town guests or wedding parties wish to stay on the premises. Room availability and block-booking options for event groups should be discussed with the reservations or events team in advance.

The Fern Hotels & Resorts brand is recognised for its environmentally responsible approach to hospitality, and this ethos extends to its properties including Ibiza The Fern. Events at Island are set within a natural landscape that aligns with this green philosophy, and clients interested in sustainable event practices are encouraged to discuss options with the team. Specific sustainability initiatives available for events can be confirmed directly with the property.

As an outdoor venue in Kolkata, Island is subject to seasonal weather patterns, including the monsoon season typically running from June through September. Event planners are advised to discuss weather contingency arrangements — such as temporary sheltering, canopies, or alternative indoor spaces — with the resort team when finalising booking dates. Choosing dates in the cooler, drier months between October and March is popular for outdoor events in the region.

Availability and pricing for Island can be checked by contacting the Ibiza The Fern Resort & Spa events team directly through the property's official website at ibizaresort.co.in or via Spalba's inquiry process. The team will typically require details such as the event date, expected guest count, event type, and any specific requirements to provide an accurate proposal.

Island is suited to corporate events that benefit from an experiential, open-air setting, including informal team retreats, networking evenings, and product launches where atmosphere and engagement are priorities. The resort's natural waterside surroundings in Shirakol offer a refreshing change from city-based conference venues, supporting a relaxed yet purposeful event environment. Corporate clients should contact the events team to discuss tailored packages and any business-specific facilities required.
